The legend of sleepy hollow

We are seeking performers for all roles for our upcoming production of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, to be performed on October 24th, 25th, and 26th.  

 

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, August 20th from 6-8pm in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Gallery, 27 West Main Street, Norwich (please use the Maple Street ramp entrance) and on Thursday, August 21st from 6-8pm, and Saturday, August 23rd from 10am-noon at the Martin W. Kappel Theater, 27 W. Main Street, Norwich, NY.  It is not necessary to attend all audition sessions.  If needed, callbacks will be held on August 24th.  The initial meet & greet for cast and crew will be held on August 27th, and rehearsals will begin on September 2nd.  

 

The following roles are available: 

ICHABOD CRANE – A Connecticut schoolteacher
GEOFFREY CRAYON – A New Yorker of distinction
BROM BONES – A roistering blade (energetic, boisterous young man)
KATRINA VAN TASSEL – A country coquette (flirtatious young woman)
BALTUS VAN TASSEL – A gentleman farmer
HANS VAN RIPPER – Another gentleman farmer
PARSON VAN HOUTEN – A man of faith
RUPERT VAN BRUNT – A spiteful schoolboy
GUNPOWDER – A weatherbeaten nag (a horse)
OTTO VAN LANCKER – A willing believer
OLD BROUWER – A willful disbeliever
HORSEMAN – A headless Prussian mercenary

STUDENTS

A SKELETON 

All characters with the exceptions of Ichabod, Brom, and Katrina can be played by performers of any gender, as any gender.  Ichabod & Brom must be played by male-presenting performers, and Katrina must be played by a female-presenting performer.

We are also seeking people to work in backstage and offstage roles.  We are looking for the following:

• Stage Manager
• Lighting Chief
• Sound Chief
• Set Construction Crew
• Stage Crew 
• Set Decoration
• Crew for other departments

The initial meet & greet for cast and crew will be held on August 27th, and rehearsals will begin on September 2nd.   Rehearsals are planned for 4 evenings per week; not all cast will need to be present every day.
